Cooking with Quorn
Cooking with Quorn products are so easy. It is just 1 simple change and you can have still have all your favourite meals
- Quorn foods can be cooked using a oven, grill, stove or microwave. They can be prepared in a similar fashion to the way you do meat and poultry, but often in much quicker time. They’re healthy, delicious and easy to prepare. Quorn mince and Quorn pieces can be cooked from frozen, so there’s no need to defrost. This means you could pull a Chilli con Quorn together in twenty minutes and a Thai curry in eight!
- Unlike meat, Quorn products don’t shrink when they’re cooked. This means that a 350g pack of Quorn chilled mince will go the same distance as 500g of beef mince. What’s more, Quorn mince cooks in a third less time than beef mince.
- There is no need to pre-marinate your Quorn ingredients, they will quickly absorb the flavours of your dish while cooking. (However, they can be marinated in all of your favourite marinades if you prefer)
- As with all foods, ensure your Quorn ingredients are piping hot before eating but be careful not to overcook. Remember, many Quorn products do not need to be cooked as long as meat. Unlike meat, Quorn products do not change colour or texture on cooking.
- After cooking, you may store Quorn leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
