More athletes continue to join Team Quorn and see the benefits to training that Quorn products can have. Great Britain hockey player Kate Richardson-Walsh uses Quorn in meals when she’s training, which she says allows her to be indulgent yet stay sensible and focused.
In the video on Quorn’s YouTube channel, she explains: “We are breaking down muscle all of the time and we need to rebuild it and make it stronger. Protein is really key to that. As an athlete everything is based around the meals that we have. The nutrition that we take in fuels our training for competition.”

It’s obviously less calories than the mince that you’d normally put in lasagne.”
Richardson-Walsh has won many medals throughout her career and married Reading and England teammate Helen Richardson-Walsh a year later. She received an MBE in 2015 from the Queen for her services to hockey, but accepts that it’s been a difficult journey to the top.
“When you’re doing fitness testing or out and about doing a horrible running session in the freezing cold rain, you probably think it’s not worth it and you got through those tough times. I would love to say that it was easy every day. It’s hard to continually push and motivate yourself as well as your teammates. It’s been hard but enjoyable.”
